Moreover, these people atomic number 18 also elected so that they can formulate decisions on behalf of their people (Hazel, 2010). The representative government within the country comprises of the federal, local and state levels (Smith, Vromen & Cook, 2012). The federal level is composed of the federal parliament which is in turn made up of the House of Representatives along with the senate. The body is charged with formulating decisions for the federal government and is headed by the countrys prime minister. Critics to the law of nature on compulsory voting have insisted that the law greatly limits the democratic participation of the citizens. The country is also a representative democracy in that the cit izens elect people to act on their behalf in the decision making activities in the countrys legislative houses. The country aspires to become fully representative which is not possible (Smith, Vromen & Cook, 2012). This is mainly because the government does not provide for full representation

On this note, the minor themes that relate to the major theme of this report are family, health condition and childhood. The look conducted manages to highlight these themes through fifteen questions, which focus on the role of parents in promoting physical activities amongst their children, their role in hindering physical activities amongst their children, the role of health awe in sports, and the manner in which an individual engaged in physical activities. By looking at how the fifteen questions are structured, though they depict a minor theme, an answer to them contributes in answering the major theme of the research. This major theme is the role of parents or family in influencing their children to engage in sports/ physical activity. In this report, the four individuals interviewed highlighted the importance of family members in their socialization process, and this process led them to engage in physical activities. Family socialization process refers to the methodologies that people learn, and thereafter develop into matureness possessing the characteristics that they have. For instance, there are high chances that an adult person who is a fan of football engaged in the sport during his or her childhood (Sansone and Harackiewicks, 430). Chances are promising that this engagement was motivated by their parents or family members. This is because as a child, a person requires guidance in all the affairs of their lives from education, to the sports and recreational life they engage in (Sansone and Harackiewicks, 417). From the findings of the interview, this report proves that parents, through their guidance , play a role in influencing their children on the kind of physical activity they engage in. This report analyzes the

BIOMECHANICAL FORCES ACTING ON ELBOW( A STATIC ANALYSIS) Essay

BIOMECHANICAL FORCES ACTING ON ELBOW( A STATIC ANALYSIS) - Essay ExampleMeanwhile, a force is an effect on a certain body which changes its physical body or motion. The elbow transforms shearing, compressional, and rotational forces into a normal motion. During flexion, the arm is bent, the pressure forces that moves along the elbow joint shift forces from the humerus to the elbow bone. Under extension, on the contrary, the applied forces extend along the radius and the humerus, with the arm straightly open. The elbow displaces such forces largely through the muscles and ligaments that absorb and disperse stresses. Since the surface area of the ulna is bigger than that of the radial head, the ulna contributes lesser force per unit area as compared to the humerus. In addition, to avoid bone strain absorption, the elbow articular cartilages acts as a buffer amongst the bones. In the event that the cartilage is forced to absorb great stress for various times, the stress flattens out the cartilage and will eventually result to earlyish wearing.Basically, the elbow is considered as a hinge joint with a single degree of freedom. However, its anatomical structure necessitates the inclusion of the articulations along with the radius and ulna. Thus, the elbow is best treated as having a mechanism of a two degree freedom that supports the supination/pronation of the arm and the extension/flexion of the elbow. In terms of internal structure, the tether synovial joints, along with subtle interactions, are radio-ulnar, humero-ulnar, and humero-radial. The humero-radial joint is of prime interest because of the combination of relative motions that occur therein the axial rotation that involves in the forearm supination/pronation and the elbow flexion accompanying the ulna (Lockard 2006, p. 72). Flexion/extension moments are produced by the muscles that act over the elbow join, including brachioradialis, brachialis, triceps, and biceps brachii. While pronation is achie ved through the muscles in the forearm, pronator quadratus,

Hormones and the Stressed Brain Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Hormones and the Stressed Brain - Essay ExampleOne, the mineralocorticoid receptors ( MRs) that control the genes for stabilization of neural activity produced in response to the stress due to the release of corticotrophin-releasing ductless gland (CRH)-1 receptor. The glucocorticoid receptors (GRs) which unlike the MRs have low affinity induce agitation in the genes in response to the stress level produced by cortisol. GRs along with CRH-2 receptors, and parasympathetic administration of behavioral alteration, aid in storing energy and information for any future occasions. Coordination and balance between the two is important for mental and physical health. Imbalance may occur due to genetic defect, individual experience etc altering the neural signal route controlling memory, emotion etc. Understanding the mechanism of corticosteroid help to find causes behind various stress related ailment like depression. The individuals response to his/her environment is determined by the str ess mediators or oversight hormones like corticosteroids mostly concentrated in the brain. In a healthy human being with perfectly balanced stress system the response operates is synonymic to the switch on and off responses of an electric fan. Sometimes these mediators may not operate in a balanced and coordinated way as in normal healthy humans.

Administrative law - Essay Exampleisability act it is deemed statutory that individuals with such incapacitation be assisted and financed to enhance their ability to attain their potential with sustainable resources. Barry was therefore, referred to the social subdivision of Gloucestershire council on 15 September which adequately assessed her needs and made arrangements to provide her with the services (Aden Chambers, 2010). As assessed he was to be support with home care support for shopping, pension, laundry and cleaning services and provision of meals on wheals 4 days a week. She used to receive routine visits from the department officials where nearly after some time her needs were re assessed and identified to be the same. However, on 29 September 2004 after the review she received dialogue from the department stating a drop on some key services offered by the local authority citing lack of sufficient funding from the central regime (Diamond 2009, P, 345). This solidly init iated the need for legal redress to enable provision of entire services by the department. The case was heard and determined by judges as analysed below (Aden Chambers 2010).In his outset assertion based on legal provisions of the land, Judge Lloyd categorically stated that the local department had a statutory duty of providing disadvantaged individuals with necessary life essentials (Pumwar and Peloquin, 2011, p. 63). Although he ruled that the local council had no power to regulate percentage resources allocated by the central Government, he noted that local authority had an obligatory duty to discharge and that their resource constraints had no bearing. He state that once the assessment and amicable agreement was through the department in whatever state should have not reneged from providing the services to Barger (Kaldor, 2003, p.56). Healthcare Issues in America Essay Example for Free

Healthcare Issues in America EssaySome of the healthcare issues that share the limelight with politicians nowadays are the skyrocketing cost of drugs, health restitution system, the ever growing cost of hospitalization fees and the low coverage of insurance for malpractices for doctors. Debates and plans have been made so as to improve the quality of service to the people. precisely really, are these the real issues that an reasonable American or a politician should give much emphasis on?There is a growing epizootic that is invading the country in silence And because it doesnt make much noise as that of an aggrieved patient filing for a case against a physician, who by mistake, has distorted her nose in some way, that doesnt mean this epidemic is not worth our time. For some reason these issues arent given much attention when in fact it threatens the very life of countless citizens therefore endangering the future of the country.Obesity, Alcohol Abuse, Mental Health, unhea lthy foods These are real issues that could very well be the cause of more deaths and unhappy citizens of this countryThough these issues have been around for decades much of the efforts to address these problems are often not enough or plainly useless. To further impress the gravity of the situation, it is therefore right to discuss these issues one by one.In the next few decades Scientists conclude that life expectancy for an average American could decline by as much as 5 years unless the government do something to decrease the rates of obesity (Dollemore 2005). With the rise of capitalist economy which gave way to consumerism, more and more goods make it to the hands of an average American. Life has besides been fast phased which led to the success of over the counter dinners and lunches, ready to take a shit meals, watching television , playing video games, using computers and etc. The youth has been living a very sedentary lifestyle which lessens their interest in bodily ac tivities.Much worst is that there has been a sudden influx of quality computer games that has taken much of their time. They are also bombarded with fast foods, blue fat, high sugar meals which are made available at every corner store. These factors conk out to obesity that has taken the world aback with a staggering 20% increase in obesity rates among the youth. Diabetes is one of the complications that can sprout from Obesity.Cardiovascular diseases are also common to those who have diabetes. Emotional stress is also experienced by those who are obese are society tend to discriminate these people giving them less chances to enjoy life. The irony of it is that the government provides operate to treat obesity rather than preventing it. It is a growing epidemic and unless we get to its roots, it will continue to rot away the future if countless American youth. correspond to surveys approximately 11 million current drinkers are in the ages of 12-20. Half of these drink excess to th e point of losing total control to the outside environment. These drinkers are the American Youth who at a tender age finds solace in beer bottles. Alcohol hollo can lead to different kind of injuries such as alcohol related accidents, date rape, fire and etc. Automobile crashes, suicides, homicides, and unsafe sex leading to teenage pregnancies are one of the gruesome after cause of teenage drinking that are often overlooked by their fragile minds. Underage drinking is a widespread problem which can be attributed to the put down access to liquor by minors.Substance abuse is very much widespread especially in impoverished areas in the country and this eventually lead to mental incapacity. One direct not look deeper to know that these issues are interconnected in someway. Teenage drinking and Obesity are discussed in flesh out to show that all the rest of the issues find its roots on the two events. The rest are just offshoots from these problems. Given the above issues, I guess it would be more appropriate for the government to give more attention to the cause of the problem rather than spending billions for rehabilitation facilities, diet programs and etc. As the state goes, prevention is better than cure.It is indeed pretty much logical to answer the question on why the youth is engaging in substance abuse rather than put them in rehabilitation centers. The thing is, the government is spending large amount of money to improve healthcare services to the populace not taking into consideration that these ailments that they are treating could not have found its way to the average American citizen in the first place. Now if by the end of the light speed this epidemic is not yet cured, then worst comes to worst, this country should expect more sickly citizens needing healthcare services to address their plight for good health. This is where my thoughts go in full circle if the government spend as much time, money and effort in addressing the problem of healt hcare improvements and that of actually improving the health of its citizens, then I guess there is better hope for the future Americans. Come to think of it, if the epidemic is not stopped, more and more citizens will need healthcare services from the government. As a consequence, no matter how we try to improve the healthcare services and insurance system it will never be enough. Laws of supply and demand holds true even in this situation. More sick people, more hospitals, more doctors, more healthcare services, more chances for politicians to exploit the scenario by adding alter healthcare in their platforms. This is a vicious cycle, and unless we recognize the need to focus on individual health rather than health care services, we will never be able to actually address the problem of healthcare in this country.ReferencesDollemore, D. (2005). Obesity Threatens to Cut U.S Life Expectancy. Retrieved April 10, 2007, from http//www.nih.gov/news/pr/mar2005/nia-16.htm.

Children with Linguistic Differences Essay Example for Free

Children with Linguistic Differences EssayIn todays classroom, it is common to suck up a student who speaks slope as a second manner of speaking. The teachers today should wee knowledge of linguistic diversity and apply what they know to assist those tykeren. According to our text, wording is one of the aspects that set diversity and it is one of the fundamental tools of cultural acquisition and a part of a childs cultural identity (Robles de Melendez Beck, 2009). As educators, we must prove those children who speak English as a second language have the same education as English speaking children. In a childs learning environment, no matter what language that child speaks, they should be comfortable and familiar with the things that surround them. It is definitive to label a childs environment with the different languages that the children speak in the classroom. If a childs native language is Spanish, French or German, there should be a like labels in that language o n shelves, tables, toys and doors. Other materials that is utilize in a classroom that assist with linguistic diversity is age appropriate books, printed materials such as newspapers, flyers and signs in different languages and music from diverse coatings (Robles de Melendez, 2009).When you have a classroom of different languages, it is necessary to understand what is going on in the childrens thinker as you speak a language that they ar not familiar or comfortable with. We need to understand, expect, and feel comfortable with the natural responses (e.g., laughter, first language use, silence and fatigue) that occur when our studentsparticipate in interactions in which they are not completely proficient in their language (Curran, 2003).Teachers should respect the fact that students that are English Language Learners or ELL may want to speak their native language. It could get frustrating at first trying to learn and understand what they are apothegm but it is the say when the t ables are turned and the student get frustrated when they do not understand what the teacher is saying. Individual lesson plans can be used to connect with a child and build their language skills. Themed lesson plans also help children connect with their own language. In any classroom, educators must not assume what a child knows or what they need to know. Assessments must be done to know what steps are needed to teach the children in the class. This is especially important when you have children with linguistic diversity. Teachers of young children in todays diverse classrooms need to confirm that their teaching strategies meet the needs of their students (Robles de Melendez Beck, 2009).To make sure that the teachers are get the right information, the classroom should be assessed for linguistic diversity. Some ways to do this is to talk to the parents and family members, doing observations of bilingual interactions and using questionnaires and surveys. Once you know what kind of d iversity you have in the classroom, then the classroom should be analyzed to figure out how to teach the students. This is done by assessing the topics that are taught, how they are taught and what resources are used to teach. It is important to maintain open communication with the childs parents and families. We as educators should not try to eliminate the childs first language but maintain it and assist them with the second language. Through different activities geared towards a childs first language will help keep the child culture meaningful. Parent can assist by singing songs in their native language or just playing games that are native to their country. Continue to sop up the families into the program to allow them to share their experiences with the classroom and this would help the children and families feel welcomed. There are two typed of knowledge that is necessary to teach linguistic diversity and they are the knowledge of practices of second language acquisition and th e knowledge of cultural ideas. Having the mere knowledge of how important it is to preserve the first language and acquire the second language and knowing a little something about the culture that is being taught. As early childhood educators, it must be understood that the role that language plays in the life of a child vital to their learning environment. It is important that children with linguistic differences be supported. Through the classroom environment, experiences, assessments, keeping an open communication with the parents and the information that the teacher knows, the children will be able to get the best education not matter whether English is their first or second language.ReferencesCurran, M. Mechanisms of Motor Development Essay Example for Free

Mechanisms of Motor Development EssayThe mechanisms elusive in motor development involve some genetic components that make up the physical size of body parts at a given age, as well as aspects of muscle and bone strength. The main aras of the brain involved in motor skills are the frontal cortex, parietal cortex and basal ganglia. The dorsolateral frontal cortex is responsible for strategic processing. The parietal cortex is important in controlling perceptual-motor integration and the basal ganglia and supplementary motor cortex are responsible for motor sequences. Nutrition and exercise likewise determine strength and and so the ease and accuracy with which a body part can be moved. Flexibility is also impacted by nutrition and exercise as well. It has also been shown that the frontal lobe develops posterio-anteriorally (from back to front). This is significant in motor development because the hind portion of the frontal lobe is cognise to control motor functions. This for m of development is known as Portional Development and explains why motor functions develop relatively quickly during normal childhood development, while logic, which is controlled by the middle and front portions of the frontal lobe, commonly will not develop until late childhood and early adolescence. Opportunities to carry out movements help establish the abilities to flex (move toward the trunk) and extend body parts, both capacities are necessary for good motor ability.Skilled voluntary movements such as passing objects from hand to hand develop as a result of physical exercise and learning. Mastery Climate is a suggested successful learning environment for children to promote motor skills by their own motivation. This promotes participation and active learning in children, which correspond to Piagets developmental theory is extremely important in early childhood rule.

Marxist And Leninist Perspectives On Colonialism History Essay

Marxist And Leninist Perspectives On Colonialism History EssayColonialism can be delimitate as the control that a landed estate or government holds over the territory and the people in a foreign country. It can also be defined as the practice of single country acquiring full or partial political control over another country. It is the establishment, maintenance, acquisition and expansion of colonies of one country in another. Also, colonialism is a term which refers to the settlement of colonies and migrates there as inhabitants. It is where a powerful country takes over a less powerful country and begins to rule that country as theirs.Colonialism and imperialism are often used inter changeably, however they are two polar words having different meaning. As twain colonialism and imperialism means political and economic domi soil of the other scholars often find it hard to differentiate the two. Although both words discuss suppression of the other, colonialism is where one nation a ssumes control over the other and imperialism refers to political or economic control either formally or informally.Colonialism can be thought to be a practice and imperialism as the idea driving the practice. It is also a term where a country conquers and rules over other regions. It means exploiting the resources of the resources of the conquered country for the benefit of conqueror.Karl Marx and Lenin had different views on colonialism but they both restrain democracy and equality. Karl Marx views colonialism as a major moment in the historical cultivate of primitive accumulation and because as a pre terminus for the mastery of the capitalist mode of production. Karl Marx influenced colonialism both post colonialism and anti colonialism. Karl Marx influenced the anti colonial independence movement around the land and the post colonial theory.Karl Marx analyzed colonialism as a liberal force which brings modernization to a society that is feudal. He also discussed how the Brit ish colonialism made clash on the Indians. Karl Marx mentioned the Indians as a feudal society who experienced modernization but in a painful manner or way.Karl Marx believed that that colonialism did not mechanically lead to the prevalence of the capitalist mode of production in the colonies, since the latter as well as capital accumulation have for their fundamental condition the annihilation of that private property which rests on the labor of the individual himself. Karl Marx considered colonialism to be an indispensable feature of imperialism. The obstacle that the internal of pre-capitalist mode of production oppose to the declaration effect of trade is apparent in the English commerce with India and China. These social obstacles to capitalism advances more rapidly to wealth and greatness than any other benignant society. Whereas in colonies inhabited by barbarous nations was actually more difficult to displace the natives.Karl Marx used oriental despotism to describe a clas s domination that used the states power of taxation in order to extract resources from the peasantry. According to Marx, oriental despotism emerged in India because agricultural productivity depended on large descale public works.According to Karl Marx he said that the first stage of human reading is personal dependence. He believed that every individual should be independent on his or her own. He believed that should be able to do what they want to do on their own without being controlled by someone else.Karl Marx also talked about the sufferings brought during the transition from feudal to bourgeois society while insisting that the transition is both necessary and ultimately progressive. He said that the penetration of foreign commerce lead cause a social revolution in India. This had both negative and positive consequences according to Marx.Karl Marx argued that colonial control was necessary not as a means of excluding rival industrial nations. Karl also stressed the importa nce of the colonial states for transforming those non-capitalist modes whose political level was crucial for their reproduction.Imperialism is thus a tendency to expansion of a developed capitalist power, a tendency created in the last instance by economic processes, but also supported by political and ideologic process. Some events like the World War II, show that it was not the economically most developed capitalist country which challenged the British colonial imperialist supremacy, but an imperialist country mainly motivated by national claims against its neighboring states. After the World War II and the national sackful movements which followed, most condition colonies won their national independence, which led to the dissolution of empires and to the end of colonialism.Marxist approaches to imperialism consider, though that ex-colonies and developing countries are still subordinated to imperialist countries through dependency dealings. The dependence created by colonialism is still manifested in all the key spheres of the developing countries economic life.According to Lenin, he defined the struggle for national independence in colonies as subjective for these colonies, as the only political course of action which could bring an end to oppression and economic misery. He also defined these struggles as inherently progressive, as the politics of the struggles of working people for social justice and showed why such anti-colonial struggles would win.In the year 1915 to 1916 argued that colonial liberation struggles were important components of the worldwide revolutionary process and he declared his conviction that many of them would succeed during the lifetime of capitalism. In the year 1917 until the end of his active life, Lenin adopted his fully matured theory of liberation in the colonial world. Lenins theory influenced the world decolonization process.Lenin stated in his theory that colonial liberation movement would succeed in the era of imperiali sm, that they were progressive and that they would not be bourgeois nationalist to the extent that exploited and revolutionary socialists provided them with directions.Lenin also demanded of all revolutionary socialists that they fight for the liberation of all colonies and any party in any colony-owning country which did not fight strongly for the liberation of its countrys colonies would be excluded for the international.Lenin also argued that support for colonial liberation was a direct support for the worlds revolution. As late as 1916, Lenin still hoped that it might be possible to unite political movement in colonies and the countries which own these colonies. Lenin later abandoned this vision and never returned to it. After the year 1916, Lenin never suggested not even once that that working class parties in colonies should be fused to those in the colonizing country, except as they fused into a single international.Karl Marx and Lenin taught that colonialism resulted from the same logic that drove the economic development and modernization in Europe.Lenin was skeptical of theories which placed undue emphasis of the interconnected global nature of capitalism which underplay the role of nations and states. He showed that capitalism cannot be reduced to the economy, by ignoring the state or the political and ideological relations of power. He emphasized that the nation state is an important influence on the way economies are organized in the normal course of capitalist development and that there are important economic forces propelling the reproduction of nation states.Capitalist power over the working classes is at the same time economic, political and ideological and it is condensed by the capitalist state in each national social formation. Lenin thought that the articulation and intertwining of all existing capitalist powers, each of which possesses a different strength and development level. It forms the worlds imperialist chain, the weakest link o f which was Russia in 1917. Lenin suggested that imperialism is a permanent relationship structuring the interactions mingled with two types of countries. Although imperialism took the form of military competition between capitalist countries, it would result in collusion between capitalist interests to maintain a stable system of exploitation of the non-developed world.
